Cecilia Edelstein

Cecilia Edelstein, psychologist, family therapist, counselor, family mediator, trained in Israel and Italy, is President of the Associazione Shinui – Centro di Consulenza sulla Relazione, scientific manager of the courses promoted by the association and of the "Training" area and coordinator of the clinical and research team of the association.

She is the creator of the Pluralist Systemic approach to be applied in therapy, counseling and mediation with individuals, couples, families, groups and organizations. Among the main research and study interests: families, interculture and migrations. Trainer for thirty years, she collaborates both with numerous public health, social and educational services throughout Italy, as well as a teacher at various specialization schools in psychotherapy, especially in the fields of the Pluralist Systemic approach and on the psychological aspects of migration processes.

She is enrolled in the Register of Psychologists of Lombardy n° 03/5352, in the National Register of AssoCounseling n ° REG-A0004-2009 (as counselor supervisor and trainer), in the AICQ SICEV National Register as Family Mediator n° 054, in the EAP (European Association for Psychotherapy), EFTA (European Family Therapy Association), SIRTS (Italian Society of Research and Systemic Therapy) and SIPPR (Italian Society of Psychology and Psychotherapy Relationship).

She is a founding member and current president of CIPRA (Italian Coordination of Professionals of the Help Relationship) and founding member of AssoCounseling of which she was a member of the scientific committee since its foundation until 2018. She is a teacher at A.I.M.S (International Association of Systemic Mediators) and member of the Didactic Commission.

Former scientific manager of the Counseling courses for the Centres for Families of the Emilia Romagna Region, from 2004 to 2018 she coordinated the continuous training of the practitioners of the InformaFamiglie project and was a trainer and supervisor of the social branches of the same region from 2013 to 2017.

Since 2014 she has been a teacher of family therapy and family mediation in Lithuania for the development of these professions nationwide.

From 2016 to 2018 she collaborated as a trainer and supervisor in the project to promote and support networks for foster care in the entire territory of the province of Brescia, a project funded by Cariplo.

Member of the editorial board of m@gm@ - Electronic Journal of Human and Social Sciences  and of the Journal of Systemic Family Mediation, she documented the Pluralist Systemic Approach in the book Pluralist systemic counseling. From theory to practice  (Ed. Erickson, 2007), in 2011 she published a research on social services and foreign users entitled The transformations of social services in the era of migratory flows  (Ed. Carocci, 2011) and in 2018 she edited a CIPRA book The different professions in the Help Report (Ed. Aracne, 2018). She is the editor of the Shinui Series  and author of numerous publications.
